New this pair was they do work. I suspect he quit using them when took the ear piece apart and couldn't get tubes back in place. They are not new. The clear tube was pulled out for cleaning and won't go back in all way.
He bought them new at Costco. They are sold as is.
They belonged to my father in law. He said used them about 6 months. No information about the wire things. Not sure how old they are.
